Here is the latest from February 26th 2008
Hey everyone. Today has been somewhat better than yesterday thank goodness! I woke up this morning and they took the NG tube out (Whoo Hoo) and started me on clear liquids. If i cant tolerate this or full liquides they will hafta do another central line to start TPN (nutrients and fat content in a bag). Meanwhile i hafta wait til next Monday before they are even gonna try to dialate the blockage again because it is still so inflammed from the last 3 dialations. If this doesnt work we are seriously gonna discuss the colostomy bag. Even tho that means 2 more surgeries and me wearin a bag for 3 months i feel it is what i need to get better and begin a somewhat normal lifestyle again. I just want to be able to stay home and take care of my Papaw, and eat!!! Anyways, thanks for all the messages calls, etc. My cousin Matthew (Fuzzy) is commin from PA to visit today so i am pretty excited!!! I will post another bulliten in a few days, sooner if sumthin newer develops. You can leave messages on here or my phone, my cell for those who missed it is 304-663-7221....please continue prayers for myself, my family, and my docs!!! Miss and love you all, Holly

Yo whats up church family.....This is Drew and I was just wanting to say hello and see how things are going back home. Ive been in Spain now for a little over a month and I am completely in love with it here. Spain is so awsome in so many ways. The people of Granada, and Andalucia in general, are quite laid back and there is much less emphasis put on time than other parts of the world. Andalucia is one of the few regions of the world that still holds on to the daily siesta tradition where all schools, stores, and restaurants close from 2-5 pm......a daily tradition that I have had no problem getting used to. Also, I have gotten extremely lucky with my living situation. My host mothers name is Senora Langa and she is a great cook and fun to talk with. She only speaks spanish so that forces me to learn, but her 28 year old daughter also lives with us and she speaks english if the conversation ever gets too deep for my rather basic vocab. My roomates are two frat brothers from Alabama who came here together. They are really cool and we get along great. In alot of ways I feel more comfortable with them than friends from back home. i have been able to travel a good bit since Ive been here, including a trip to Morocco this past weekend. All in all it has been a great experience so far and I feel like I have became more comfortable with myself and matured a bit as well as learning some valuable lessons. I thank God for allowing me such great experiences and I hope that I use the resources He has given me to do great things. I hope all is well with everyone back in the Hill. I read Hollys update just a minute ago, so Holly I will be praying and thinking about you. Forrest, Im glad that you got this website crankin...its cool and people should use it. And Im about to run out of space in this one post so God bless all of you....I miss you all and will try to do the OHUMC name well.
Peace and much love, Drew |
